Dear Candidate

Director of Development and Assistant Director of Finance

Thank you for your interest in applying to join our team at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG).

WCHG has been through a period of significant growth and positive change over the last five years. We now provide homes and services to more than 14,000 households in the south Manchester area and provide local employment to almost 560 colleagues. We have been awarded the prestigious ‘Investors in People’ Platinum Status recognising our commitment to high performance through excellent people management and we are the first Housing Association in the North West of England to achieve this prestigious accreditation.

We are proud of our excellent reputation in the region for regenerating communities and for providing exceptional services to our tenants. We have developed a significant programme of new homes in recent years with a pipeline of future development opportunities that will enable the Group to deliver 200 homes each year for the next five years, with an ambition to increase this further.

We are committed to our wider social responsibilities and strive to fulfil them by applying significant commercial skill to protect the Group’s interests and those of current and future residents. We recognise that housing is a long-term business and so the decisions we make reflect the needs of the business, tenants and stakeholders today as well as in the future.

Both the Director of Development and Assistant Director of Finance are vital roles, with significant responsibilities supporting and shaping delivery of our ambitious plans.

The delivery of high-quality development, within budget, is crucial to ensuring we meet the challenges and seize the opportunities of Government policy and the financial landscape; make best use of our asset base; provide excellent services to our customers; and grow our commercial portfolio.

Our growth ambitions are supported by our sound financial position, our risk aware control environment and the provision of excellent financial services to colleagues and other stakeholders.

We are ambitious for our current and future residents, our local authority Partners and for the communities in which we operate. If you share our ambitions, have the talent, drive and experience to help us succeed and are confident you can contribute positively to the wider development of WCHG, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

I look forward to receiving your application and should you require more information please do not hesitate to contact Ian Robertson of EMA (retained advisor) on 01926 8872782.
